Curriculum Development

The Training Institute has an established reputation in designing, developing and writing creative, experiential, skill-based curricula for organizations that have their own training corp. We use an eleven step development process that directly involves you, your ultimate consumer, and experts in the field in creating a "trainer-friendly" product.
A sample of the curricula we've created includes:
- Co-Occurring Center for Excellence:
Consensus and Evidence-Based Practices for Clients with Co-Occurring Disabilities - a 4-hour training for decision-making leadership (and a 6-hour version for front-line practitioners) in the fields of mental health and substance abuse treatment.
- New York State Department of Health AIDS Institute:
HIV Testing Procedures for Rapid Tests - a 3-day curriculum written for statewide implementation to train HIV-test Counselors to conduct Rapid Tests.
Cultural Diversity - a 1-day curriculum written for statewide implementation to train AIDS case managers and counselors throughout NYS in diversity issues.
- Bureau of Justice Administration
Cultural Proficiency for Drug Court Practitioners - A nationally implemented two-day curriculum designed to assist judges, prosecutors, public defenders, and various drug court team staff in working with diverse populations.
- New York City Department of Probation:
The Stages of Change Curriculum - a 3-day curriculum
Establishing Relationships /Communication Skills Curriculum - a 2-day curriculum
Relapse Prevention Curriculum - a 1-day training curriculum; were written for Day Treatment staff and training personnel. Training for staff and a training of trainers were also conducted.
- Herricks High School, Long Island:
Drug Prevention Curriculum - a 36-lesson (4 1/2 day) curriculum written for drug prevention staff.
