What you need to know about applying NDRI training hours toward your CASAC credentialing
NDRI is an Office of Alcohol and Substance Abuse Services (OASAS) certified education and training provider. We can try to answer your questions, but please note that we do not handle the credentialing process.
OASAS is the state agency that provides certification and guidance for all people who are interested in acquiring their Certified Alcohol and Substance Abuse Counselor (CASAC), Credentialed Prevention Professional (CPP) or Credentialed Prevention Specialist (CPS) credentials.
CASAC certification is intended for individuals who provide alcoholism and substance abuse counseling services in approved work settings. CPP and CPS certification are intended for individuals who provide alcohol and substance abuse prevention services in approved work settings.
OASAS oversees the requirements and credentialing process for becoming a CASAC/CPP/CPS certified worker.
SOME of the courses provided at NDRI are CASAC/CPP/CPS approved. A course that is approved will have a grey certificate, and have the approved hours clearly listed (3 hours, 6 hours, etc.). For information on OASAS approved courses, please go to NDRI OASAS Approved Courses.
